The Problem

The slide moves slowly.
The cancer does not.

Pathology still depends on physical logistics, local expertise, and manual workflows. Complex cancer cases often wait because the right specialist isn't available where the slide is.

01
Physical slide movement

Glass slides travel by courier between labs and reviewers — adding days to every diagnosis.

02
Limited subspecialist access

Complex cases wait for the one expert in the region — or get routed less optimally.

03
Manual review overload

Pathologists scan entire slides at full resolution. Time spent searching is time not diagnosing.

04
Fragmented reporting

Findings live across notes, screenshots, and emails. Traceability suffers, QA becomes painful.

The Workflow

From slide upload to expert diagnosis
— in one connected flow.

Path-iQ decouples slide location from diagnostic expertise. One secure pipeline carries every case from histotech upload to signed-out report.

Step 1
Upload WSI
Labs upload .SVS, .NDPI, .MRXS, DICOM, or compatible whole-slide image formats. Files are validated, secured, and ready for case creation in seconds.

Product

The cancer pathology workflow,
end-to-end.

Path-iQ is an AI-assisted, cloud-native pathology platform — built around the seven steps that take a slide from histotech to signed-out report. Every component is designed to keep pathologists in control while removing friction the rest of the way.

The Workflow

Seven steps.
One connected pipeline.

Tap any step to explore what happens at that stage of the case.

Step 1
Upload WSI
Histotechs upload .SVS, .NDPI, .MRXS, DICOM, or compatible whole-slide image formats. Files are validated, metadata-tagged, virus-scanned, and stored in encrypted cloud storage.

AI Models

Six models.
One purpose: help pathologists see what matters first.

Path-iQ AI is assistive, not autonomous. Each model surfaces information for human review — and the licensed pathologist remains the named decision-maker on every case.

How AI fits in the workflow

Assistive by design.
Always reviewed.

01 / Position
Path-iQ AI is assistive software — not an autonomous diagnostic device.
02 / Output
All AI outputs surface as visual or numerical insights, never as final diagnosis.
03 / Review
A licensed pathologist reviews and signs out every case. AI never bypasses human judgment.
04 / Traceability
Every AI output is logged with version, parameters, and the human review that followed.
05 / Boundaries
Models are evaluated for clinical validity within stated indications. Outside indications, AI is suppressed.

Cloud availability

Built for lab realities

The bottleneck
isn't the slide.

Labs lose time to logistics, not science. Path-iQ removes the friction so your pathologists spend their hours on diagnosis, not coordination.

01
Subspecialist scarcity

Most labs don't have every subspecialty in-house. Cases either wait or get reviewed by less aligned experts. Path-iQ routes to the right specialist anywhere on the network.

02
Slide logistics

Couriers, missing slides, broken glass. Cloud upload turns a multi-day journey into a multi-second one — and removes the loss risk entirely.

03
Reporting overhead

Free-text reports, screenshot emails, version confusion. Structured reports with embedded evidence and one source of truth for every case.

04
QA & audit gaps

Quality reviews depend on full traceability. Every action — view, annotation, AI output, sign-out — captured automatically.

Detailed scenarios

How teams use Path-iQ
in practice.

CASE 01 / Breast Cancer Diagnosis

Breast core biopsy with AI Ki-67 assist

A community lab uploads a breast core biopsy. Ki-67 scoring assist surfaces a proliferation index estimate, and the case is auto-routed to a breast subspecialist on the network. The subspecialist reviews, adjusts the score where appropriate, and signs out a structured report — back to the originating lab in hours, not days.

BreastKi-67Routing
CASE 02 / Second Opinion

Subspecialist consult on a complex case

A pathologist requests a second opinion on an unusual presentation. Path-iQ shares the WSI, AI outputs, and existing annotations with a chosen subspecialist. The consult is documented inside the same case file — no email exchange, no lost context.

Second OpinionConsult
CASE 03 / Tumor Board

Multi-disciplinary review prep

For weekly tumor board, the team assembles WSIs, annotations, AI outputs, and structured findings into a single case view that can be shared with oncology, radiology, and surgery. Discussion happens around real evidence, not screenshots.

Tumor BoardSharing
CASE 04 / Backlog Reduction

Routing overflow to network experts

During capacity peaks, lab admins route overflow cases to verified subspecialist pathologists on the Path-iQ network. Same WSI viewer, same AI assists, same audit trail — full control with elastic capacity.

BacklogNetwork
CASE 05 / QA Review

Per-case audit timeline

When a QA team reviews a sample of cases, they pull the per-case event timeline — every view, annotation, AI output, and sign-out action — directly from Path-iQ. No reconstruction, no missing context.

What we believe

Four convictions
that shape what we build.

01 / VALUE
Clinical-first.

Pathologists are not optional. Every workflow ends with a human decision-maker, by design.

02 / VALUE
Human-in-the-loop AI.

AI surfaces. Pathologists decide. We do not build autonomous diagnostic pipelines.

03 / VALUE
Built for trust.

Compliance-ready architecture, full audit trails, and clinical safety baked into the platform — not bolted on.

04 / VALUE
Global by default.

Security

Built for clinical-grade trust.

Healthcare data deserves a serious foundation. Path-iQ is engineered with role-based access, end-to-end audit trails, encryption at rest and in transit, and a clinical safety architecture that puts pathologists in control.

Security pillars

What protects every case.

01 / Access
Role-based access — admins, histotechs, pathologists, and reviewers have only the permissions they need.
02 / Audit
Every action — view, annotation, AI output, sign-out — is logged with user, timestamp, and case context.
03 / Encryption
Data is encrypted at rest and in transit. WSI files and reports are stored in encrypted cloud storage.
04 / Privacy
PHI is minimized and segregated. Anonymized case sharing supported for research and teaching.
05 / Traceability
Every report links to the WSI version, AI model version, and the named pathologist who signed it out.
06 / Pathologist control
AI overlays toggle on or off. Outputs can be accepted, modified, or rejected. Pathologists sign out.

Clinical safety

Five principles
we don't compromise on.

01 / Clinical Safety
Path-iQ is engineered for clinical use, with safety reviews, error-handling, and feedback loops embedded into every layer of the platform.
02 / Human Oversight
Pathologists review and sign out every diagnostic report. AI assists. It never replaces clinical judgment.
03 / AI Positioning
Path-iQ AI is assistive software — not an autonomous diagnostic device. All outputs are reviewed within the workflow.
04 / Compliance
Architected with HIPAA, GDPR, and KSA PDPL readiness. Aligned with CAP digital pathology guidelines.
05 / Data Privacy
PHI is encrypted, segregated, and access-logged. Patients are not directly served by Path-iQ.

Frequently asked

Compliance & trust questions.

Path-iQ is architected with HIPAA-aligned controls — including BAA support, encryption at rest and in transit, role-based access, and complete audit trails. We work with US-based labs and hospitals to align deployments with their compliance programs.

Yes. Path-iQ is engineered with GDPR readiness, including data minimization, purpose limitation, lawful basis support, and DPA arrangements with labs and pathologists in EU jurisdictions.

Yes. Path-iQ is architected for compliance with Saudi Arabia's Personal Data Protection Law (PDPL), including data residency support, processor obligations, and consent and lawful-basis flows.

Path-iQ is designed to align with CAP digital pathology validation and workflow guidelines, including viewer fidelity, color reproduction, slide handling, and pathologist sign-out as the named decision step.

All WSI files, case data, reports, and audit logs are encrypted at rest using AES-256. Data in transit is protected with TLS 1.2+. Key management uses cloud KMS services with rotation and access control.

Path-iQ AI is assistive only. It surfaces information for pathologist review but never produces autonomous diagnostic conclusions. AI is suppressed outside stated indications, and every output is logged with model version and reviewed by the signing pathologist.

Path-iQ uses major cloud providers with healthcare-grade infrastructure. Data residency can be configured per region (US, EU, KSA, etc.) to meet local data protection requirements.

Path-iQ is an AI-assisted workflow platform — not an autonomous diagnostic system. Final diagnostic responsibility remains with the licensed pathologist.
