Path-iQ users can request deletion of their account and associated personal data at any time. Because Path-iQ is a clinical workflow platform, some records (audit logs, signed-out reports, billing) must be retained for regulatory and clinical safety reasons even after an account is deleted.

01Overview

You can request deletion of your Path-iQ account and the personal data we control either from within the mobile app or by email. Both paths are processed by the same team and follow the same timeline.

02From the mobile app

To delete your account from the Path-iQ mobile app:

  1. Open Path-iQ on your device and sign in.
  2. Tap your profile avatar in the top-right corner.
  3. Select Settings → Account.
  4. Tap Request account deletion.
  5. Review the disclosure that follows, including which data will be deleted and which will be retained, then confirm.
  6. You will receive a confirmation email within 24 hours. Final deletion follows the timeline below.
! Important: account deletion cannot be undone. Once final deletion is processed, your annotations, drafts, and saved views are permanently removed.

03By email

If you cannot access the app, email rahul.wasnik@pathiq.cloud from the email address associated with your Path-iQ account with the subject line "Account deletion request". Include your full name, the organisation under which your account is registered, and any context that may help us verify your identity. We will confirm the request and process it on the timeline below.

04What we delete

On final deletion, we remove:

  • Your user profile (name, email, role, professional license details).
  • Your authentication credentials, SSO links, MFA enrolments, and active sessions.
  • Your personal preferences, saved views, drafts, and unsigned annotations.
  • Your push notification tokens and any device pairings.
  • Your in-app messages and support thread content where you are the originator.

05What we must retain

Because Path-iQ operates in a regulated clinical environment, the following items are retained even after account deletion, in accordance with law, contract, and clinical safety practice:

Signed-out diagnostic reports
Retained per the originating lab's retention schedule. The diagnostic record cannot be removed by the signing pathologist alone.
Audit trail entries
Retained for the engagement duration plus the regulatory minimum applicable to the customer (typically multi-year).
Case data
Owned by the originating lab. Retention is governed by the lab's schedule and our DPA/BAA with that lab.
Billing records
Retained for the period required by tax and accounting law.
Anti-abuse and security records
Limited records may be retained where necessary to prevent recurrence of abuse or to defend legal claims.

Retained records are minimised to what is necessary and access is restricted.

06Timeline

  • Within 24 hours: we confirm receipt of your request.
  • Within 7 days: your account is deactivated. You can no longer sign in, and you stop receiving notifications.
  • Within 30 days: we delete the items listed under What we delete. We may extend this to 90 days for legitimate operational reasons; if we do, we will notify you.
  • Backups: deleted items may remain in encrypted backups for up to 90 additional days before being purged on standard rotation.

07Organisation-managed accounts

If your account was created and is administered by a lab, hospital, or other organisation, your administrator can also deactivate or delete your account through our admin tools. You may want to coordinate with your administrator before submitting a personal deletion request, particularly if you have active cases assigned to you.

Where you are the only administrator of a customer account, deletion may require transition planning. Contact us before submitting the request and we will help.

08Patients

Patients do not have Path-iQ accounts. If you are a patient seeking deletion of data related to pathology performed on your samples, contact the lab or hospital that ordered the test. We will act on the lab's instructions.

09Contact

For any deletion-related question, contact rahul.wasnik@pathiq.cloud. We respond within one business day.
